Alexander Wills is now offering an Advance Decision service.

An Advance Decision is a decision made by a person refusing consent to the giving or continuing of certain medical treatment, such as:

- Artificial nutrition;
- CPR;
- Ventilation; and
- Antibiotics.

Also known as a 'Living Will', an Advance Decision is separate to a Will and a Lasting Power of Attorney, but similarly, it can only be made by a person who still has capacity to make the decision. They are commonly made by people who have been diagnosed with a terminal or degenerative illness, or by people with particular religious, spiritual or personal beliefs that are relevant to certain treatments.
